CURTAIN WALLING

– GLAZING AS BIG AND DRAMATIC AS YOUR IDEAS

Curtain walling lets your imagination run wild and allows you to create a bold visual statement in the design of your home or business. Becoming ever more popular in residential applications, curtain walling offers the ability to glaze very large areas – often whole elevations or facades – with full height glass.

Our extensive range of curtain walls meet all the requirements of contemporary architecture, with regards to energy performance, allowing the use of double or triple glazing and the incorporation of openable shaped panes.

Offering the best technical curtain wall solutions from across the industry, Renka are experienced at installing a wide range of different systems.

The detailed design of your curtain wall needs to consider factors including how and to what the curtain wall is going to be pinned back, what wind load the façade will be exposed to and how deep the box section needs to be to support the weight of glass in your designs.

GLASS BALCONIES AND BALUSTRADES

– SAFETY AND STYLE IN EQUAL MEASURE :

Renka’s range of glass balustrades are designed with far more than safety in mind. Equally appropriate for commercial or domestic projects, they are the design refinements that turn the functional into a beautiful feature. They allow light to flow freely into a room. They create the illusion of space. They’re simple to clean, and a pleasure to live and work with.

Frameless glass balustrades can be used on external balconies, internal level changes or stairwells, with various fixing techniques depending on the surrounding elements. They can also be integrated into a number of our aluminium products or wall mounted to create a minimal Juliette Balcony.

Whether you’re considering a frameless balustrade, one with floor mounted supports or one with stainless steel pillars, Renka will have the right solution for you.

GLASS TO GLASS / FRAMELESS CORNERS

– A VIEW UNINTERRUPTED BY STRUCTURAL PILLARS

When planning a project, corner windows present a great opportunity to create an external view without the visual disruption caused by corner posts.

With the use of stepped glazed units that are silicone sealed together, the resulting window is very effective at maximising light coming into a room, as well as being a dramatic and beautiful architectural feature.

Glass to glass corners can be used as standalone units or can be attached to the fixed panel of a sliding door set to create an even more striking visual effect.

GLAZED LINKS

– STRUCTURALLY GLAZED LINKS FOR EVERY APPLICATION

When planning a project, corner windows present a great opportunity to create an external view without the visual disruption caused by corner posts.

With the use of stepped glazed units that are silicone sealed together, the resulting window is very effective at maximising light coming into a room, as well as being a dramatic and beautiful architectural feature.

STRUCTURAL GLASS BEAMS

STRENGTH, LIGHT AND ELEGANCE

Structural glass beams are used on various non-vertical structural glass items to give structural support to the glass installation. Most frequently seen as an alternative to structural steel bars in various rooflight applications, they not only offer great strength and reinforcement, but they also create a much lighter and more aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Structural glass beams are formed from a number of layers of toughened glass which are then laminated together to form an extremely robust and strong supporting arm. The depth and thickness of the glass beam is dependent on the load it will be supporting. Due to the inherent strength of glass and the added durability from the lamination, the glass beam can be used to support significant weights of glass with a broad range of products including large flat, monopitch or double hipped roofs.

The fixing of glass beams is dependent on the project and the type of opening the associated glass is being fitted into. Steel brackets or supports can be used to fix the glass beam to a wall surface. This bracket can often be hidden by the building finishes internally to create a frameless glass appearance.

SHAPED FRAMES

SHAPED AND GABLE GLAZING TO HELP CREATE THE HOUSE YOU ALWAYS WANTED

We all want our homes to reflect our personalities and to have features that visually stand out. These “finishing touches” are often more design than functionally driven, but can also have the benefit of bringing the maximum amount of light into the house.

The use of shaped frames can be a great source of these unique finishing touches. Whether following the contours of the house (gable glazing or arched doorways) or creating a statement design point, you can let your imagination run wild. Circular, rhomboid or triangular shaped panes can all be engineered to add drama to your design.

Whilst most shaped frames are intended to be “fixed” (non opening), some can have opening sashes built within them. As always…a great start point is to discuss your ideas with our team of experts.
