Renka – French and Single Doors

Renka French doors can be a great way to open a room up and let light and air flood in. In applications where an aperture isn’t large enough to house a bifold or sliding door, French doors can be the ideal solution.

All 3 of our bifold door systems offer French door options in exactly the same profile – an ideal way to ensure that a number of different products across a project fit together visually.

FRENCH DOORS – A TRADITIONAL STYLE WITH ULTRA MODERN FEATURES

French doors can be a great way to open a room up and let light and air flood in. In applications where an aperture isn’t large enough to house a bifold or sliding door, French doors can be the ideal solution.

All 3 of our bifold door systems offer French door options in exactly the same profile – an ideal way to ensure that a number of different products across a project fit together visually. These systems are :

  • RF1200 Maximum width 2400mm / height 2500mm
  • RF1000 Maximum width 2000mm / height 2500mm
  • RF Origin Maximum width 2400mm / height 2500mm

The same hardware and colour options available on our bifold doors are also available on the French doors.

In addition to the above, we also offer French doors in our slim profile RF-AL47 “Heritage” system.

RF-AL47 HERITAGE – CRITALL-STYLE FRENCH DOORS

A visually much slimmer and more shallow profile gives our RF-AL47 system a unique look which makes it particularly well suited to renovations and refits on older and more traditional properties.

The system can be complemented with double glazed units with integral glazing bars and internally and externally applied astragal bars to deliver a “Critall-style” look in a cost-effective and thermally efficient system.

Because the RF-AL47 has a much slimmer outer frame than our bifold door systems, it is limited as to the size of doors that it can offer. The maximum French door width is 1800mm, with the maximum height 2100mm. However, greater width and height glazing in the system can be achieved by combining the RF-AL47 French doors with window glazing above and to either side in the RW-AL47 window system.

OVERSIZE FRENCH DOORS

Whilst French doors of up to 2.5 metres meet the requirements of the vast majority of projects, we are able to specify doors of up to 3 metres in height should this be required.

GLAZING OPTIONS

As with all our products, the glass units we would normally supply would be 28mm double glazed units with 2 panes of 4mm or 6mm glass (dependent upon size) separated by an argon-filled chamber. All the glass we supply is low E and toughened. For some applications, we will upgrade this glass specification to include laminated glass and/or a solar control coating / 8mm glass panes.

For some applications/sizes of glass units, we can quote to include integral magnetically-operated blinds.

SINGLE DOORS – MODERN MATERIALS AND PEACE OF MIND SECURITY

Whilst your main entrance door is often one of the first and most important style decisions on your project, the correct specification of the other external single doors on a project can be an important step. Single glazed doors are often used as side and rear entrances to the utility and kitchen areas of a property.

All 4 of our bifold / French door systems offer single door options in exactly the same profile – an ideal way to ensure that a number of different products across a project fit together visually. These systems are :

  • RF1200 Maximum door width 1200mm / height 2500mm
  • RF1000 Maximum door width 1000mm / height 2500mm
  • RF Origin Maximum door width 1200mm / height 2500mm
  • RF-AL47 Maximum door width 900mm / height 2100mm

The same hardware and colour options available on our bifold and French doors are also available on the single doors. From a design point of view, single doors can be fully glazed, half glazed / half solid or have a mid height rail. The glass within the door can be specified as clear, obscure, and even to include integral magnetically-operated blinds.
