On many projects, space can be at a premium, and using it effectively can make a huge difference to a family’s living space.
On this project we twinned with an award-winning London architect and an excellent builder – both of who we’ve worked with on a number of projects.
This stepped rear and side extension were clad in black, providing a blank canvas for the protruding Oak window seat which appears to float, and frames reciprocal views between the kitchen and garden.
A 2.5 metre tall single door and 2 panel bifold doors create a smooth link between internal and external social areas, and their height ensures that light comes as far into the room as possible. This is complemented by rooflights over both sections of the extension.
This well-planned extension project gave the family an additional large and flexible kitchen / dining / living area rather than them having to move to a new property.
